On 15 April 2009 Susan Mainolfi was approved as the Chair Person for the Architectural Committee. This move was initiated by the then Architectural Committee Chair, Tom Staves as his requirements at work were impacting the amount of time he could dedicate to the HOA. Susan and Tom have been working together for several months and this transition should be a very smooth action for the HOA. Tom will be staying on as a member of the committee and will continue to support Susan and the community. Additionally, it was recommended by the HOA VP and approved that the Architectural Committee also be responsible for the HOA grounds. Under the heading of grounds the committee will now be responsible for the maintenance of roads (all aspects) and lawn care. Because of the magnitude of the work Susan’s committee will take on, she will have the ability to shape her committee to meet current and future needs. The Architectural Committee will provide monthly reports to the HOA Board of Directors. The Architectural Committee has a number of initiatives ongoing and in the near future we hope to bring many of those actions to the attention of the residents for a decision. It is the current objective of the committee that it capture the projects that the residents identify, form an comprehensive listing and allow the residents to vote on what projects they want taken on. To date some of the projects residents in the community have nominated (not in order) for us to take on are:
Finally, a major shortfall that we all as a community just endured was the recent winter and the lack of or absence of snow removal. We believe this situation has been partially resolved with the developer just being given Phase I (Manor Circle and a portion Pelhamdale) completion credit by Cecil County. This means that the county is now responsible for these roads and we are in the process of confirming this information as well as coordinating for next snow season. Not included as a portion of the Phase I effort are the courts. The developer still has responsibility for those roads. In the past the developer has paid a contractor to drive out from Bel Air to do our roads. The Architectural Committee is currently weighing our options and will update the community once a solution is completed and in place. Online submission and review of all Architectural Changes to your home as required by the HOA Policies and Procedures. |
